Cypraea arabica Range- Indo-Pacific Size- 1 1/4"-2" The Arabian cowrie, Cypraea arabica, can be found throuhout the Indo-Pacific region ranging in size from approximatlry 1.25"-2" The family of seashells known as cowries are some most of the most sought after and shiny seashells there are. The animal of the seashell or it's mantle, wraps around the entire shell to protect the surface of the shell giving them this natural luster. When the mantle is touched it withdraws into the shell exposing the exoskeleton of the shell. Most cowry seashells are nocturnal coming out at night to feed on plants and algae.
